56th Inauguration in DC

I just returned from Washington, DC,
having attended the 56th Inauguration of
the President and Vice President of the
United States.
It was simply an amazing week of
history. Below is one of my favorite
photos taken at the Inauguration. The
photo was taken from the Senate side of
the West Standing area.

I will be attending the 2009 Clinton Global
Initiative University in Austin, TX at the
University of Texas.

I am honored to return as a 2008 CGIU
alum. My policy concentration at
CGIU 09 is Human Rights and will be
discussing practical applications of
capacity building to strengthen youth
organizations globally.

Above is a photo taken with former
President Bill Clinton at CGIU 08 in New
Orleans, LA at Tulane University.
First NE Tornadoes of 2009
Warmer weather brings the return of
severe weather across the Plains. March
23rd brought the first major outbreak of
severe weather to Nebraska. Above is a
video still of a rain-wrapped EF0 tornado
I was chasing just south of Gretna near
I-80 and Hwy 31. Portions of my video
footage were broadcast on CBS affiliate
KMTV - Omaha when they were live
on-air during the storms and during the
10 pm Newscast.

Sandhill Crane Annual Migration to the Platte River of Nebraska

This past weekend, I went crane watching in Central Nebraska. The Sandhill Crane
Migration in Nebraska is the #1 place in the world for bird watching according to Forbes
magazine. More than 600,000 sandhill cranes, 150 endangered whooping cranes and
nearly 16,000,000 other migratory birds fly over a 60 mile stretch of the Platte River
during spring migration. The photo above was taken along the Platte River south of
Gibbon, NE.
